Changes

Well, there have been a lot of changes in the Taylor household the last couple of months.  The middle of  March we found out our Miniature Schnauzer "Bailey"  had some serious health problems and would have to be put down.  That was a very devastating thing for our family, she had been with us 10 years and 3 liters of puppies.  It was a sad good bye but with sadness came happiness.  Four days after Bailey was gone we found a new puppy, a toy yorkie.  After serious discussion we named her Nala from the Lion King.  Ella's favorite movie at the time :)  I feel as tho I have a toddler back in the house and it has been a huge adjustment.  I will be very glad when she is done with the training part, which she is very close!
I wish I could say the weather has changed in the last couple months but no its stayed the same cold and rainy! I am really getting anxious for warmer weather and soak up some sun and vitamin d and anything else I can find out there.
Tina came yesterday and I learned to knit the "English" way and I am very excited.  I was having trouble with my hands hurting and so I kind of got out of knitting as much, but not anymore, just finished the back and arms of a baby sweater since yesterday :)  Plus I always enjoy my visits from Ninnie!!  We always have some fun talks for sure.

School is 12 days from being done for the summer and I am very excited.  That always brings great changes for me, I have less kids to watch and I live at the pool.  Assuming the weather breaks!!

Do Not Be Deceived!

You look at this picture and think "WOW" its beautiful there, the sun is out the sky is blue must be nice and warm.    When I was thinking about my day I have been challenged about how we has Christians can be so deceived.  We think we are living for the Lord and doing good but are we really being deceived thinking we are when really we are not.  The Lord has been challenging me to not be of the world.  I want people to look at me differently, not as a radical freak but someone who loves her Lord and wants to live for him.  I was talking with Abbey this week because she is learning this hugely at school.  There is a word they use at school that when I was in school and still think it now is not a word that should be said.  It's belittling and just inappropriate.  She said to me "Mom, its not like we mean it we just say it to them to be funny its only a joke."  Wow, we talked about standing out from the others and not letting unwholesome talk come out of our mouths.  I even challenged her with "Do not be deceived".  It was a good lesson for her and for me to remind ourselves that we need to be careful and not get so caught up in life that we forget about what really is important.  So, do not be deceived because actually there is snow on the ground and it is only 10 degrees -2 with the wind chill!

Blah Blah Blah...

Today has been one of those blah days!  Woke up at 5:10 with a phone call from the schools that school was cancelled.  Which for me means, I can't go back to sleep.  Then, I found out my Dad has to have surgery on his sinus' which isn't horribly serious but still weighs on my heart just the same.  And tomorrow morning my niece leaves for Brazil for 3 1/2 months which is very sad!  She is doing a semester study there for school, yes I know its a wonderful experience for her and she will have a great time but she will be missed greatly!  On top of all that, it looks like another snow day tomorrow which means another call from the school at 5 am.  So, needless to say today has been a blah day and I can't wait to go to bed and start a new and fresh day tomorrow.

Organizing

I consider myself an organized person for the most part.  However, if you can't see it whats the point right?  My husband is the one who is the "closet" organizer.  Well I have this so called china chest that has gotton out of control in my dining room.  Mainly because I don't really use it for china, I do put some dishes in there but mostly its used for crafty things for the kids and anything I can't find a home for thats where I put it.  Needless to say it is out of control.

Another thing that is becoming out of control is my yarn supply... now I am not complaining because to me its very exciting to look at and decide what I want to knit with it.  The biggest problem is where the heck do I put it.  Well, I decided to be an "organizer" and clean out my so called china cabinet.  I am very proud of my organization skills and would like to share them with you.  My husband will probably have heart failure when he sees it because he knows this is not normal for me.  So here it is ...

A lot of Randomness

Well for a couple of days now I have been thinking about what I might write about.  I started thinking why people really even care and then I realized I check daily to see if people have updated their blog so I figured I best get on it.  I get very irritated when I check someone elses blog and it has been like 3 months or longer since they have updated theirs, not that I would start mentioning names or anything...

So, last night Ben and I decided we needed a date night desperately.  It is hard to spend alone time with four children.  We headed out to Olive Garden where we had a great meal and great conversation plus the bonus was he cut his own meat!  After OG we headed to Joann's to see if there were any yarn sales of course.  As I sit and think about last night I realize what a wonderful man I married.  Even though it was a low key date just being with him and talking and laughing made me realize how lucky I am, he is lucky of course cause he got me! I am saddened at how many marriages fall apart daily and people who never experience the joys that our marriage has!  It has taken a lot of work but keeping God at the center of it has been the rock that truly holds it together.  Well enough of that it was startin to get to deep.  Anyway, on to bigger things, when we were at Joann's I added to my sock yarn.  I am bingeing on making socks.  Can u do that?  If you are me yes you can, I have made 1 pair of socks and 2 socks that need pairs made in the last 2 weeks, I love socks.  Thinkin about starting a "sock wardrobe"  I am going to attempt to post a picture of my socks but we shall see but until then...

The Flu

Well..it has happened.  The unthinkable!  The Taylors have officially started the stomach flu.  I know its horrible. Ella had it last Friday and we started feeling like we were out of the woods until lastnight at 10 Luke starts yellin. Now if you are squimish this is when you stop reading.  Ben and I go in his room and wouldn't ya know it he didn't make it to the toilet.  Puke everywhere.  You wanna know the best part?  We had mexican for dinner and right before bed he had a nice big mug of hot cocoa.  Wow, what  a mess. We finally got in bed and Ben says to me "I refuse to get this stuff, I will fight it with my life."  Well, you know whats coming, I woke up at 3:15 am to Ben heaving in the bathroom.  He fought it all right!  So, the questions for me is, when will it hit me?  I won't refuse it but I sure as heck won't like it!  Sorry no pictures for this one.

Knitting Day

For about 6 months now my Aunt Tina and my mom have been coming to my house for knitting.  It has been so much fun getting to know my Aunt and also learning all of her knitting secrets!  I never saw myself as being a knitter but man have I enjoyed it.  It has been so much fun coming up with different patterns to work on and being creative.  I have finished a pair of socks and a sweater that was so large all three of us could have fit in it, but I enjoyed making it.  Stay tuned for further updates on "knitting days".

This is mom wrestling her sheep :)  ok maybe its her sweater she is working on!

This picture is for Megan, seriously this looks to big but your mom is insistent that its not!
